Originally formed in 1979 by Chuck Reilly, The Northwest Woodsmen Rugby Football Club have lived through a number of name changes starting with the moniker of the ‘Elgin River Rats’ and finishing with the current name which they adopted in 1997. The NWRFC resides in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, they play home matches at Ned Brown Meadow in Rolling Woods, Illinois.
