PARC OL, LYON
How to get there:
Just like was said for Saint-Etienne, the train station Gare de Lyon and the Saint-Exupery
airport are both easy to get to and from. You can get on the Rhonexpress to go straight into
the centre.
Where the rugby’s happening:
The rugby is taking place at the Parc OL, a new stadium built in 2016 and with a capacity of
59 000 people. It’s home to the Lyon football team and was built for the 2016 European
Championships in France. It also welcomed the European Champions Cup final in the same
year.
Where to get some beers:
In summer, Lyon’s population flocks to gather along the Rhone to drink on the various bars
and beer gardens. Star Ferry beer garden is up there with the most popular spots and sells
burgers and beers from all over the world. You could also head to La Grooverie for a retro
and soulful décor.
What to visit whilst I’m there:
Lyon is one of the most beautiful places in France and just walking around the centre will be
a great activity, but the Musée des Confluences is a crazy piece of architecture that is well
worth a visit. You could also go up to the Fourvière hill to see the beautiful city in all its
glory.
